After a long, long, long night at the hospital, Mason Terry Bumgarner was born at some un-Godly hour in the middle of the night. The details are fuzzy at this point because I haven’t slept, but everyone is doing great, and the little guy will be out breakin’ hearts in no time.

The “new and improved” Maverick arrived just in time to see the “original” Maverick fizzle and fade away!
In typical “maverick” fashion, Maverick William Anderson “felt the need for speed” and busted through the “danger zone” ahead of schedule this morning at “o-nine-hundred-hours-and-seventeen-minutes”. He was an itty bitty, nay, “stealthy” 4 lbs., 14 oz., and 18 inches long.
Lisa Anderson “right here” is recovering just fine. And Iceman — er, Maverick — will be raising shenanigans “SouthSIIIDE-style” in no time! Meanwhile, I’ll be here making Top Gun references. Over and over again.
(Me so funnae!)
Has it really been a year already? Pretty soon our little girl is gonna be getting her license and goin’ off to college and canoodling with (GULP!) boys! Well, maybe not that last part. At least not for a long, LONG time. Maybe when she’s 30. If she’s good. And asks nicely. I think I’m gonna puke.
The baby shower was this weekend. Good times! Charli did an awesome job planning it as usual. Thank you everybody for coming and, thanks everybody for all the fantastic gifts! Now it official, Kayla has more stuff and more clothes in his house than Sheri and I combined - an she’s not even born yet! It’s crazy! Strollers, swings, high chairs, vibrating bouncy thingy’s, bath tubs (complete with shower spray of course), and that’s before even going into her room! That’s where the piles and piles…and piles…and piles of clothes begin. I think it goes without saying this girl is gonna be spoiled! I have a feeling that Daddy’s in for a world of pain!
Tristan Russell McClurg arrived today at 1:04 p.m., weighing in at 8lbs. and 1oz. The day started early and was long and rough but everyone is doing well.
He may look all cute and innocent now but don’t be fooled… it won’t be long before all the poopin’ starts!
Congratulations!
…so here it is. All things Kayla. Now if only she could figure out how to use the toilet. And get a job.
People have been askin’ for an update on the Kayla and here it is!
She’s getting big. Relatively speaking anyway. She’s still smaller than alot of other babies her age but at least she’s fitting into her 3-6 month clothes now! She sleeps through the night now most days, which suits me just fine! The other day we tried givin’ her some rice cereal and she’s ALL about that! She even kinda gets the spoon concept so it seems we have a quick learner on our hands. Oh and she LOVES the water! Lately, Mama’s been takin’ her into the grown-up tub and as soon as she hits the water she starts kickin’ and splashin’ all over the place. I’m thinkin’ that someday she’ll win a gold medal for swimming in the Olympics. What do ya say?
Ryan James was born today at 4:57pm. He weighed in at 7 pounds 12 ounces and 20 inches long. Proud parents Rick and Laura are doing well and are excited as can be!
Now, who’s next?
Sorry it’s been so long since my last post but things have been a little crazy around here as I’m sure you can imagine. To say that Kayla’s been keeping us busy would be an understatement. She’s been making alot of progress though. She can hold her head up on her own now for a few seconds at a time. You can tell that she can focus on things now so she’s definitely seeing better. One of her new favorite games is to mimic your facial expressions. AND, she’s been sleeping better. Well, she was anyway. I say “was” though because she seems to have fallen of the bandwagon here the past couple nights but I’m hoping it’s just a phase. Oi…she already has “phases”…
And here she is - all 5 pounds and 14 ounces of her wrapped up in the cutest little 18 1/2 inch long package. She’s got beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes, at least for now, and is absolutely gorgeous. She was born at exactly midnight - 12:00am Sunday January 8 (which means she shares her birthday with Elvis!)
Although she was born a little more than two weeks early, the doctors all say Kayla doesn’t show any signs of typical premies and is perfectly healthy. Mom’s still a bit uncomfortable but recovering nicely too.
